Renting a motorcycle in Brazil for a road trip

Shadeador
Planning a trip to Brazil next month and really want to explore on two wheels rather than being stuck in a rental car. Anyone have experience with motorcycle rental in Brazil? Wondering about the process, required documents, and whether you need an international permit or if a US license works. Also curious about typical pricing and if most places have decent bikes or just beat-up old models. Appreciate any tips from people who've done this.

Brazil's actually amazing for motorcycle touring, especially along the coast or through the countryside. Most reputable rental places will ask for an international driving permit along with your passport, so definitely sort that out before you go. Insurance requirements vary by region too. For a good selection of bikes and transparent rental terms for motorcycle rental across Brazil, you can check options on this platform https://getrentacar.com/en-US/motorcycle-rental/brazil .

Take tons of photos of the bike before you ride off, especially any existing damage. Brazilian roads can be rough and rental companies appreciate the honesty when returning.
