Flink Version Selection

Hi Flinksters, 

We did a Security scan for our flink project today. 

We got the following. 

 

I have seen many mails regarding the following.

1) Checkpoint recovery issue in 1.12 and 1.12.1 version and its being fixed in 1.12.2 version

When is the expected time for 1.12.2 version to be published ?

Are there any breaking issue in 1.11.3 or could we go ahead with it ?

So My question here is whether to upgrade to version 1.11.3 or 1.12.2 version ?

Our idea is to get the project into production dark launch within a month for which we have to clear the security scan .

When is the expected time for 1.12.2 version to be published ?

We expect it early next week.

These mails were regarding unaligned checkpoints. If you haven't used that feature yet, it's safe to upgrade to 1.12.1.

Are there any breaking issue in 1.11.3 or could we go ahead with it ?

None that I know of.

My recommendation would be to switch to 1.12.1 if you are not using unaligned checkpoints. Even better would be to wait for 1.12.2 next week.

If you want to switch now and use unaligned checkpoints, go ahead with 1.11.3.
