this is the weekly community update thread #28. Please post any news and updates you want to share with the community to this thread.

# Feature freeze for Flink 1.6

The community has decided to effectuate the feature freeze for Flink 1.6 on the 15th of July at 23:59 CET [1]. Only features which are completed until then can be included in the next major Flink release.

# Release voting for Flink 1.5.1

The community is currently voting on the first bug fix release Flink 1.5.1 [2]. The community appreciates every helping hand with vetting the release. The voting period ends middle of this week.
